Three battle-tier Pokemon from some people on Tumblr. (You can view/Reblog here!)

The variation thing going around is pretty cool, so I wanted to take it another step further and start modifying Pokemon to be reflective of how they were bred and what they were bred for. I collected some data asking a few random people to give me their game stats (IVs, EVs, or what they bred their Pokemon for/what they bred it to, etc.) These "hybrid" results were just the tip of the iceberg - might be something I'll follow up with again in the future.

In any case -

bluewithyellow‘s Honchkrow, in this example, resembles a Staraptor for it’s Brave Bird attack. This particular Pokemon’s moveset is really helpful for cleaning up in the end game. It’s smaller and a little more streamline to better reflect the ATK and SPE EV slots it’s been trained for.

grey-frog‘s shiny Greninja has high IVs all across the board, so I tried to make it look a little more battle-ready and muscular. This Pokemon is a “purebred” or a “lab bred” - most of its moves are TM-trained and so it only bears resemblance to itself because there were no necessary egg moves to breed into it.

And lastly, there’s baskingsunflower‘s Mismagius, who’s two egg moves come from Banette, becoming a pretty formidable opponent on the right offensive  team.

This stuff can get really convoluted really fast, but it was an interesting experiment all the same!
